The Message

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” Isaiah 9:6

The first Christmas was celebrated sometime around 330 AD in Rome. And yet despite the controversies in the US over the political correctness of Christmas, the holiday has grown from its early birth in Rome to become a global phenomenon celebrated by billions of people the world over from Venezuela to South Korea. Every year friends and family gather together in countries around the globe to give gifts and to celebrate the greatest gift of all, Jesus. Out of God’s great love for us he gave us the greatest Christmas gift of all in his son and through that gift he changed the course of history. So this Christmas in the midst of the business, the shopping, and the parties, lets remember to stop and to thank God for the amazing gift he gave us in his son.

Take the Christmas Challenge

We challenge you this Christmas to share the true Christmas story (The Gospel Message) with friends and family by giving them a Walking on Water film. Our hope is that many of you will be willing to take this challenge and give at least twenty five of your friends and family a dvd of The Outsiders or Noah’s Arc. The dvds are available for only $1 through our website. Please place your order by December 7th in order to insure arrival in time for Christmas. We pray that many will be impacted as you step out in faith by taking the Christmas Challenge!!!!!

Fifth Annual Walking On Water Fundraiser Banquet

We would like to thank everyone who was able to make it to our Fifth Annual Fundraiser Banquet and for supporting Walking on Water. Over $22,000 was raised which will be matched by our grant through Mission Increase Foundation. We would also like to extend our gratitude to all the volunteers, Wahoo’s Fish Tacos and La Jolla Presbyterian Church for hosting the event. The evening was a huge blessing to the ministry and it was great to see all of you there.

Heart of a Soul Surfer: The Bethany Hamilton Documentary

Walking On Water has had the privilege of working alongside Becky Baumgartner and the Hamilton family in producing a personal documentary about teen shark attack victim Bethany Hamilton. This faith-based documentary conveys Bethany’s heart and tackles the difficult question: Why does God allow bad things to happen in our lives? In Heart of a Soul Surfer it is obvious to see why Bethany Hamilton has been used by God to inspire this entire generation. Her strong faith and trust in God is so clearly seen as the story is told. This documentary will be available for purchase through our website in January.

Can't Keep Me Down Premieres in Carlsbad and Costa Mesa

On November 11th Walking On Water premiered its latest release “Can’t Keep Me Down: The Bobby DuCharme Story” in the Brown Theater at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. Reunited local band Dakoda Motor Company opened up the evening with a rocking set to the over 1400 people who came out for the event. After Dakoda's set and a brief introduction by Bryan Jennings the film was premiered to the expectant crowd. When the film was done and as Bobby rolled out on to the stage the entire crowd rose to their feet in a standing ovation, blown away by the power of Bobby's story. After the film Bobby shared a brief message with the crowd and his good friend Mike Power gave a gospel presentation. Over 25 people prayed to receive Christ and hundreds of lives were deeply touched by the evening. The event was an amazing night and we would like to extend a special thanks to Bird Matson and to all the others who worked to make the night a great success.
