The Message

“And David said, 'the LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.'” - I Samuel 17:37

David was in the midst of a battle. The opposing army was physically stronger, yet David was certain he would not be defeated. He was positive the Lord would grant him victory. As David prepared to go to battle with the giant who was opposing the Lord and His people, David brought to remembrance past occasions in which the Lord had delivered him from seemingly certain death. It’s extremely important for us to remember what the Lord has done in our lives, the faithfulness He has always shown us. In our times of battle, when the enemy seems like an overpowering giant, let us not forget that in Christ we are more than conquerors, and He will deliver us and grant us victory. Despite the giants’ weapons and stature, it only took a sling and a stone for David to slay him. His faith in the Lord made him triumphant in battle.

Summer of “Dream Surf Camps”

We are encouraged when we think about what we saw the Lord do this summer. Three-time World Champion Tom Curren, along with his family, joined our camp at the beach to surf with the campers and help push them into waves. Other surf heroes, Skip Frye, Bethany Hamilton, and the Hobgood brothers visited camp to surf with the campers, take pictures and sign autographs. It truly was a “Dream” camp for these young surfers.

One mother wrote in about her son’s experience. “I just wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for all that you did for our son at the Walking on Water Dream Surf Camp this summer. Truly the most priceless gift that you gave is the spiritual depth of the camp.  When I spoke to him on the phone I asked him how camp was, and the first thing that he told me was that he learned so much about and got so close to God. Then he went on to tell me all of the details of camp. It was so encouraging that he would tell me his experiences in that order!  What a gift you gave us!  Please thank all of the staff and those who give towards scholarships so that kids in our situation can have the possibility to do something that would otherwise be impossible!”

Japan Update

This August marked Walking On Water's 4th annual mission trip to Japan, fittingly named “Surfing the Rising Sun”. We partnered with Christian Surfers Japan and Christian Surfers Australia. Our primary role was to identify and connect with the local surfers through surfing to share the love and salvation that can only be offered through Jesus. We worked in southern Japan hosting Noah’s Arc movie premiere followed by a testimonial message and prize giveaways. We also gave out about a 1,000 free Outsiders DVD's. Through these events we were privileged to see three Japanese surfers come to faith in Jesus!! For many of the Japanese it was the first time that they had ever heard the Gospel before!! One Japanese man, Keisuke Watahara, said, “I believe it was God's guidance for me to see this movie.” Please lift up Japan, as, with more than 99.5% non-believers, it is still one of the most unreached countries in the world with the gospel. We are looking forward to future trips to Japan, and if you would like to take part in this trip email us at missions@walkingonwater.com

Film Premieres and World Tour

We are in the final stages of editing the film and it has been an amazing journey over the past two years. For the last two months editors Nic McLean, Russell Brownley, and Matt Katsolis have been working diligently to finish the film and it is turning out better than we hoped.

When we stepped out in faith towards the largest film project in the eleven years of Walking On Water's history we knew it would be an expensive project. God has provided for every need along the way! As we come to the final chapter of the production of Walking On Water we wanted to thank each of you for your financial support, and ask that you would continue to support Walking On Water!

In the midst of editing we are also planning the world premiere of the film Walking On Water. Walking On Water, in association with the Livin' It Alliance which is part of the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, is hosting the Orange County Festival on October 13th. Visit www.livinitoc.com for more information. If you would like to volunteer at this event please email info@walkingonwater.com. We look forward to seeing you there!

Brad Corrigan Finishes Off Noah's Arc World Tour in Brazil

With the recent Noah's Arc Tour through Brazil in August Brad Corrigan, Tiago Machado, and his band Braddigan bring to a close the world touring of Noah's Arc. Since the release of Noah's Arc in the fall of 2004 Walking On Water has premiered the film all over the United States and in every major surfing nation in the world. From Australia to Ireland to Japan Walking On Water has premiered the film in over 18 countries around the world to over 150,000 people in live attendance and we have seen thousands come to Christ. It has been an amazing adventure to see God take Noah's Arc and touch the whole world with this film. And as the Noah's Arc tour winds down and we head into our next film we are excited to see the even greater things God is doing to do with this next movie. Please be praying for us as we take this next huge step forward!
