Patrick Ivison's Story
Patrick Ivision is 14 years old and recently learned about Walking On Water when he attended the premier of Heart of a Soul Surfer with Bethany Hamilton. When Patrick was a very small child he was run over by a car and suffered C4/C5 spinal cord injury. Doctors said that he would probably never walk again. When he was 10 years old and sitting in church one day he asked God if he could help him walk again. He had never asked for help before because he felt he had a great life and didn’t mind being in a wheelchair, but during the service the pastor said that all things are possible. Shortly after Patrick began the program Project Walk in 2005. Now two years and 18 fundraisers later Patrick is continuing to make progress towards walking, including taking 30 steps with the help of his trainer and a walker. Patrick loves surfing and surfs with adaptive equipment. Patrick has many opportunities for public speaking to share his story through organizations such as Children’s Hospital and Abilities Expo. Patrick said he learned from attending the premier of Heart of a Soul Surfer that he wants to start sharing his faith when he has speaking opportunities. We know God must have very special plans for Patrick!

East Coast Fundraiser Banquets Update
On February 23rd and 24th we hosted fundraiser banquets in Melbourne, Florida and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Since we have partnered with these communities in the past to host large surf film outreaches, we thought it would be a good time to share the vision and needs of Walking on Water as we head into the most exciting year in our history. As usual God amazed us. People drove for hours to come to the banquets. Everyone was so encouraged and many committed to prayer and fasting for this next year of surf outreaches. God also provided much needed finances through these banquets.
The Pensacola fundraiser banquet will be on March 10th. If you are in the area please join us. You can RSVP at info@walkingonwater.org.
Join the 2007 Prayer and Fasting Team
One of the most important lessons God has taught us over the years is the importance of prayer. We have seen that the films and outreach events that were prayed for the most ended up having the most impact. Our goal is to gather a small army of prayer warriors who will commit to praying and fasting on the 7th day of each month from now until October 2007 when our next film will be released. James 5:16 states that, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”. If you would be willing to make this commitment and join the 2007 prayer and fasting team please email info@walkingonwater.org and simply let us know your name and email. We will email the prayer requests to you on the 6th of each month and again on the 7th as a reminder to pray and fast.

“Heart of a Soul Surfer” Southern California Premieres
Walking On Water in partnership with the Friends of Bethany Hamilton Organization and film producer Becky Baumgartner released the powerful new documentary about Bethany Hamilton on Friday, February 9th and kicked off the release with an amazing three day Southern California tour. The first premieres were held that Friday night in Huntington Beach to two maxed out, standing room only shows at the Pierside Cinemas off Main Street. Christian Surfers under the leadership of Stan Bryson and Bryan Edwards did an incredible job in hosting that event. The next night Saturday, Feb. 10th we did another standing room only premiere at Mariners Church in Irvine, California. And then Sunday night we wrapped up the weekend with another standing room only premiere at Maranatha Chapel in San Diego. Over the course of the weekend close to 7,000 people came out for the events and hundreds prayed to receive the Lord. The premieres were featured in the San Diego Tribune, the local TV news stations, Surfline.com, and more. We would like to extend a very special thank you to all the people who worked to make the weekend a great success.
